Funded Programs

When to Take the Back Seat

When to Take the Back Seat is a supportive program designed to help people living with dementia make informed decisions about when it may be time to stop driving. We understand that this can be one of the most difficult and emotional transitions for individuals and their families. Our program offers resources, guidance, and a reimbursement of up to $500 to help cover the cost of a professional driving assessment. This assessment provides an objective evaluation of driving abilities, supporting safer decisions while respecting personal autonomy. In addition to financial assistance, we provide information and tools for planning ahead, promoting safety, and supporting conversations between individuals, families, and care partners. If you or someone you care about is facing this decision, When to Take the Back Seat is here to help every step of the way.

Knock knock

A dedicated group of volunteers prepares and delivers homemade meals to dementia patients, providing a much-needed day of rest for their caregivers. The initiative recognizes the constant commitment of loved ones who care for their Alzies around the clock, often without a break. Each week, volunteers cook nourishing, comforting dishes and personally deliver them with a warm "knock-knock" at the door, bringing not only food but a sense of support and community. By allowing caregivers to step back, recharge, and trust that their loved ones are well-fed, "Knock Knock" brings relief, appreciation, and connection to families navigating dementia care.
